Dry eye treatment
Dryness, burning and a gritty feeling can be associated with problems in the tear film. The doctor investigates the cause of your discomfort and recommends treatment. IPL therapy may be suitable for selected patients, particularly those with meibomian gland dysfunction. An examination determines whether it is appropriate and how many sessions may be needed

Dry eye care and IPL therapy
Similar symptoms can have different causes. The doctor assesses the eye surface, tear film and eyelids. The plan may include lubricants, eyelid care, changes to daily habits and other treatments according to the findings
Svit Ochey offers IPL therapy, which uses pulsed light for established indications. It may be considered for meibomian gland dysfunction affecting the tear film. IPL is not suitable for everyone: skin conditions, medicines and contraindications are assessed, and eye protection is used during treatment
How to prepare
- Report medicines, skin conditions and recent tanning
- Before IPL, ask about cosmetics, skin care and contact lens instructions
- Bring the names of drops and other products you already use
After your appointment or procedure
The response is assessed over time. Regular eyelid and tear film care may still be needed after procedures. The number of sessions and ongoing treatment depend on the cause of symptoms and your response
Frequently asked questions
Is IPL appropriate for all dry eyes?
No. The cause of symptoms, indications and contraindications must be assessed first
Is one session enough?
The number of procedures is individual. Your doctor will explain the plan and how the response will be assessed
Can I just use drops?
Lubricating drops can be part of treatment. Persistent symptoms are a reason to investigate their cause and review the plan
